FINALLY!! A new travel post!
Seagrove Beach, FL is between Destin and Panama City Beach. It’s a little less crowded than the more popular beaches in the Florida panhandle area. Take a short drive to wander through shops or check out nearby restaurants in Grayton Beach, Seaside, Santa Rosa Beach or Rosemary Beach.
We really are spoiled in the Southeast by these gulf coast beaches. Most have soft white, sugary/powdery sand beaches and water that rivals some Caribbean Islands. Beautiful.
This gulf coast white sand is actually made up of tiny bits of quartz crystals that have been washed off of the Appalachian Mountains over the years, continuing to happen today.
Sand can only be so interesting…let’s move on to vacation meals!
Best dish of the trip: Snapper & Grits from Crackings, a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot
This was truly yummy. Our sweet waitress informed us that if she had to move away it would be the last dish she’d eat before leaving. So, someone had to try it🤷♀️ They also serve croisseignets - a hybrid croissant/beignet covered in powdered sugar with a side of honey. Not disappointing at all.
This small stop is an easy eatery with family-friendly dishes. We shared a platter for lunch: half fried shrimp/half blackened mahi mahi, hush puppies, fried okra and slaw
The fried items are light and crisp-they do a great job here. Wine and beer available (local beer as well) and a small selection of Seagrove Beach tees, coffee mugs, caps and books surround the cash register if you need a souvenir.
Bud & Alley’s at Seaside
I recommend checking in here for drinks and appetizers to enjoy that view! There is a lot to see in this general area if you’re looking for shops and restaurants.
Mahi mahi sandwich with side salad from Bud & Alley‘s
Dinner here was lively and delicious. My photo was taken right after a quick rain while the staff was drying tables and chairs. Everyone was very busy but also friendly and accommodating. You’ll find live music here and at an adjoining venue as well. Please show up far before you’re hungry—very popular!
Right beside our rental was a small seafood market selling fresh seafood alongside signature items like homemade tuna dip, crab and artichoke dip and key lime pie. You can grab ingredients to make sushi, crackers to accompany the dips, wine, etc. The team will also steam shrimp or crab legs for you-which is our favorite lunch to bring back to the condo. HIGHLY recommended!!
Summer House Lifestyle This boutique was full of beautiful, beachy-chic home goods and a small selection of jewelry. You’ll want to beach-ify your space after you visit.
I brought home these cute guitar print napkins there that remind me of Nashville + Beach.
One Seagrove Place is a condo on the beach where each unit has 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms and an ocean-facing balcony. This is the 3rd or 4th time we’ve stayed here and we will probably stay again in the future. There are tons of rentals in this area so finding a place is only an issue if you wait until the last minute.
2022 Addition: Brunch and Spa at The Pearl Hotel
Both brunch and the spa were a great experience! I do recommend booking your spa services in advance. This spa is more geared towards guests of the hotel and has a small check in area or the pool deck for waiting on your service. It was also voted one of the top 3 spas in the area! The massage therapists here are amazing. Very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly.
It was nice to see the ocean and enjoy local seafood for a few days. Cheers until next time!
